Phil Lynott and The Black Elvis

“Do You Want To Rock?”: Colbert Hamilton on Phil Lynott from Sam Coley on Vimeo.
Colbert Hamilton (The Black Elvis), was born and grew up in Birmingham. In the early ’80s, as front-man of rockabilly band, The Hellraisers, he signed to EMI and relocated to London. With his manager he wrote a song. EMI assigned him to demo it with Phil Lynott, in his home studio in Richmond. It was December 1985, the final weeks of Phil’s life. The track was never finished nor released. Phil engineers, programs the drums, adds bass and backing vocals. At the end of the track, you can hear Phil comment.
